What is carbon composite for?
Combined with a high-performance resin, carbon gives very rigid and very light parts. It is the choice for applications where every gram and every degree of flex matters.
Processes
- Hand lay-up: precise placement of the plies along the direction of the loads.
- Vacuum moulding: compaction of the plies for a dense, uniform part.
- Autoclave curing for parts that require it.
Prototypes and small series
No large industrial runs: QTechGolf works from a single part to a small series, with moulds and jigs often 3D-printed to shorten lead times and limit tooling costs.
Sectors
| Sector | Examples |
|---|---|
| Golf | Composite shafts, clubhead components, inserts |
| Aerospace | Lightweight structural parts, prototypes |
| Precision engineering | Rigid, low-mass components |
Carbon composite or PPA-CF 3D printing?
Carbon composite delivers the best mechanical performance for a given mass, with continuous fibres. PPA-CF 3D printing is faster for complex geometries and prototypes. Depending on your part, I will advise one, the other, or a combination of both.
